Re: CARROLL
He really has great technical ability.
His immense size equates to him having a lack in mobility.
N
He is at his glorious best attack in the ball and when he doesn't need to turn towards the opposition and their goal.
Play him when he can have the ball played to him or in front of him and with the goal in his sights and he is then being used to his strengths

The problem... as has been as confirmed by both BFS and Bilic is that Durham Bumper has been less than professional in the past with us... and when you are playing £90k a week ain't fucking on... look it's a new start... hopefully the penny has finally dropped... I'll say forever he aint the type of player I'll pay decent money to watch and enjoy BUT I'll agree he is effective on his game (as he has been the last two weeks)... he owes the fans and the club big time and the last two weeks has started repaying .... lets hope it continues... but still for me sakho all day long to start

Re: Carroll
Wasn't for his early introduction because he would have to replace a more technical player and at 1-0 the task was clearly to keep the ball and regain it quickly as far up the pitch as possible.

So it was really good to have him come on once they'd equalised. As chim said, it makes a fine change seeing the likes of Terry and Co shit themselves at a change from our dugout.

Re: Carroll
People forget Carroll's defensive contributions. He acts as a giant extra centre-back, for those excess minutes of injury time that all the top teams get from referees until they are supposed to score.

Re: Carroll
I sit near where the substitutes warm up and to see such an attack-minded team already giving chelsea a game then seeing Carroll, Enner Valencia, Antonio Valencia and Nic Jelovic warming up on the touchline and champing at the bit to get on is a bit surreal.

We've gone from being a club that a die-hard supporter like me had to force himself across town to watch and couldn't really care what happened to a team I can't wait to watch and get excited about- all in the space of what seems like a few months.

One of the (many, many) things we hated about Allardyce was that he proclaimed his tactical genius yet didn't even have a plan B. Look what we've got now.

A fit, married and settled-down Carroll would be an asset to ANY club- even chelsea. Imagine if THEY had had him yesterday and he'd come on at 1-1. Personally, I'd have shit myself.

Tips

I just saw those pics. It's true. That might be the one thing chelsea could justifiably complain about. Shame the officials missed that, as I thought they had a great game up until then.

When I say shame, I mean BWAHAAHHAHAA!

Lily, mate. To be fair, if you see the photos, AC almost ripped the shirt off his back, as he jumped for it. :-)
Sahko had nothing to hold onto, or climb up.

Re: Carroll
I like a FIT Andy Carroll, I like him a lot, when fit & on his game he is arguably the biggest handful in the premier league, centre halfs hate playing against him. In the last 2 games his earned us 4 points that we probably wouldn't have got without him.

If we carry on using him as we are at the mo, get him fitter & sharper, get the right type of balls into him, then he could make a massive difference to where we end up this year.

Lovely to have all these attacking options right now, pace, skill, power, we can really mix it up this year!

Our best striker. Must be pushing for a start next game. Brilliant to have the options. Why would we want to sell him?

Lily Hammer 12:55 Sun Oct 25
Re: Carroll
The papers talked of the chelsea full back axicalcutta? didn't do enough to stop Carrol, but in truth, even Sakho, who is a monster in the air and tried to head the ball, even he couldn't stop Carrol.

An absolute MONSTER, and he's ours, and he loves it at West Ham, as do all the players. You've got to be stark staring mad to want to sell him.

It would seem wise if we sold him for big bucks and then he broke down again after a month, but fuck that negativity. I follow Slaven's positive approach. If we are careful with him, he'll get back to full fitness, and then we have one of the best attacking options on the planet, and dat dere is da truth1
